All things Violin Technique

Violin Holiday program for AMEB Preliminary - Grade 4 Violin students of Melbourne. Join for some intensely fun music sessions with guest teacher: Prue Jury.

2 half-days covering AMEB material such as violin technique, sight-reading, scale practice, arpeggios, ear-training/aural, rhythm development, and music games. Perfect for students wanting to get some extra practice in a group setting, or for students preparing for an upcoming exam.

AMEB PRELIMINARY - GRADE 1 (Recommended age: 7-10 years old)

Thursday 21st December 2023, 9am - 12pm

Friday 22nd December 2023, 9am - 12pm

AMEB GRADE 2 - 4 (Recommended age: 9-12 years old)

Thursday 21st December 2023, 1pm - 4pm

Friday 22nd December 2023, 1pm - 4pm

There is an age requirement of a minimum of 7 years old.

Parents are not required to be there and can drop their child off to us at the front door of Ellison String Studio. Please bring your own recess.

Prue Jury

 

A recipient of the Australian Society of Music Educators (Victorian) Award, Prue is passionate about educating young musicians while incorporating a flair of creativity and fun. 

She is a graduate from Monash University and the University of Tasmania, with a Bachelor of Music (Performance). Prue has conducted and performed in various String Ensembles, Orchestras, Theatre productions and Bands across Australia, also performing in tours across Europe and China. She is currently Head of Strings at Overnewton Anglican Community College, teaching also at Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School. 

Prue is excited to share her experience making technical work approachable and fun, with a hint of holiday merriment!
